FROST OFFICIALLY NAMED WPD CHIEF

On September 5, 2006, The Waynesboro Board of Alderman made it official

that the Interim Chief Leonard Frost would be promoted to Chief of the Waynesboro Police Department. Frost has been serving as Interim Chief for nearly a year after Chief Jerry Mosley retired. Frost has been in Law Enforcement since 1988. Frost stated to the Wayne County News "the goals of the Waynesboro Police Department will be to maintain Law & Order to the best of our abilities." Frost said he has numerous plans for the Waynesboro Police Department and he intends on keeping up the work that the Department has been doing the past year. “With the support of the Mayor and the Board, I believe that we can do great things within the City of Waynesboro.”, said Frost. Frost stated to the Wayne County News that his philosophy as Chief will be one of service. Frost believes that involving the Police Department in a larger role in Public Relations and going into the schools, daycare centers and to become more visible on the streets in Waynesboro.
