Wal-Mart Purse Snatcher Apprehended In Alabama

According to Chief Leonard Frost, on Saturday May 26, 2007, a suspect was
arrested in Choctaw County, Alabama after coming to Wal-Mart on several occasions taking purses from ladies in side the store. Investigator Mark West worked with authorities in Choctaw and Washington County, Alabama trying to identify the suspect. On Friday, June 1, 2007, Investigator Mark West traveled to Washington County Alabama and interviewed the suspect identified as being the purse snatcher. The suspect was identified as Shawn Desmond Woodard of Silas, AL. Investigator West formally charged Woodard on Friday, June 1, 2007. Woodard is charged with Simple Robbery in Mississippi and is being held in Washington County Alabama Jail on denied bond pending further charges in those jurisdictions. Woodard will be extradited back to Mississippi to face charges upon completion of all sentencing in Alabama.
