WPD Investigates Armed Robbery

According to Chief Leonard Frost, on June 1, 2007, officers were dispatched to
917 Mississippi Drive dba Bumper’s Drive-In on an armed robbery call that took place at the First State Bank Deposit Box on Robinson Street. Officers spoke with manager, Kandy Scarbrough, which stated that she pulled into the bank parking lot to make the night deposit when a black male, approximately 5'10, 165-190 pounds, wearing a black bandana on his face , pointed a pistol at her. The suspect then grabbed the money and fled on foot. Anyone that may have information related to this incident is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at 601-735-3192.
