Two Stabbed at High Noon Lounge

Officers responded to a fight in progress at the High Noon Lounge
on July 26, 2007at approximately 11:50 p.m. Upon arrival of the officers, the two victims had been transported by personal vehicle to Wayne General Hospital. The suspect had left the scene. Officers then responded to Wayne General, where the officers told by witnesses that James Crager and Ronnie Skipper had been stabbed by Richard Jacob Busby . Lt. Petus told Investigator Mark West on Friday morning that the incident had occurred and that officers had spoken with Busby and advised Busby to come in on Friday. Investigator Mark West went to Wayne General Hospital ICU and spoke with the victims; Ronnie Skipper, who was stabbed seven times in the upper body, and James Crager, who was stabbed once in the leg. Both victims stated that the fight broke out, one on one, and the other went to help break up the fight when Busby stabbed Skipper and Crager. Investigator Mark West interviewed other witnesses who stated that the three were fighting in the parking lot when Busby stabbed them. Busby stated in an interview that Busby was only defending himself. Investigator Mark West charged Busby with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. All felony cases are decided by the Wayne County Grand Jury . Busby was brought before Judge Charles Britton on Friday, July 27, 2007 for initial appearance; where Busby’s bond was set at $50,000 per charge. The case will be presented to the Wayne County Grand Jury in January 2008.
