Kinnis Ruffin Arrested on Commercial Burglary

According to Chief Leonard Frost, on September 1, 2007, officers were

dispatched to 119 Mississippi Drive on a burglar alarm call. Cpl Leroy Barnett responded to the call and upon arrival Cpl Barnett checked the front door and it was locked. Cpl. Barnett proceeded to the back of the store to check the storage area . Barnett then saw the front door to the storage unit open and proceeded around the building to the open door where he saw a unidentified black male standing in the back of the building. Sgt. Stone and Cpl Barnett saw, in open view, in the trunk of a green vehicle, driven by Kinnis Ruffin, a shop- vac and a Fedder’s air conditioner unit. The owner of the DJ’s Grocery, Marion L Loper, arrived and identified the shop-vac and the Fedder’s air coniditoner. Kinnis Ruffin was arrested and charged with burglary of a commercial building. Ruffin was bound over to the action of the Wayne County Grand Jury in January 2008.
