According to Chief Frost, on 10/23/2007 Central dispatch paged out a call to the Waynesboro Police Dept. to go to Deas Car Lot for a stolen truck.
Stolen Vehicle From Cooley Motors
According to Chief Frost, Nelson Toomey DBA Cooley Motor Co., Reported to the police that someone had driven a white chevy truck from the parking lot ah Cooley's and parked it at the Budget Inn. Asst. Chief Bunch, Nelson, and Mr. Cooley went to the Budget Inn and recovered the truck.
Drexler Johnson Arrested In Cooley's Drugs Burglary
According to Chief Frost, Drexler Johnson was arrested and charged with burglary of a business after Cooley Drugs was broken into on October 18,2007.
Burglary at Bumpers Drive-In
According to Chief Frost, officers responded to a bugaglary call at 917 Miss. Drive, Bumpers Drive Inn. Apperently the suspect entered by prying open a window(no glass was broken). The assistant manager closed the store at 2200 hours on 10-03 and locked up. The suspect stole approximatly $359.00. Sgt. McCasaskey dusted for latent prints at the point of entry but was unable to obtain a print to lift.
Craft Arrested On Armed Robbery Charges
According to Chief Frost, On Sept. 29,2007 Waynesboro Police Dept. was dispatched to Exxon #2 respondind to a robbery call. Upon arrival the clerk stated to Officer Everette, Lt. Pettus that a white male had been in the store two times prior . The clerk stated that she saw the white male and askes him if she could help him,the white male then stated that she could give him all the money from the register. The clerk gave the white male money from the register,and the white male left the store. The manager came to the store and viewed the video. The manager identified the white male as a regular customer and stated to West that the white male was Steven Craft. The manager stated to West that Craft's wife was an employee and was working at the Clark's #4 on hwy 184W. Steven Craft was arrested by Waynesboro Police Dept. and charged with armed robbery.Craft was bound over to the action the January 2008 Grand Jury.
Theft at Johnson Oil Yard located at Russell Drive
According to Chief Frost, Richard Johnson stated to Waynesboro Police Department that someone had cut a section of his fence at Johnson Oil and stole 1 reel of Alt aliminum underground cable. There is 250 feet to a reel at $2.10 a foot. The incident happened between September 28th and October 1,2007.
